Teams
Create an Enterprise team workspace, invite people, understand roles, and manage shared links, folders, and domains.
Team workspaces
Teams are an Enterprise feature. A team workspace sits alongside each member's Personal workspace and contains shared links, folders, and custom domains.
The Enterprise owner can create one team. A new team starts with five seats, including the owner. Contact support@linkyhost.com if more seats are required.
Always check the workspace switcher before uploading. A file published in Personal does not automatically become a team resource.
Create a team
- Sign in as the Enterprise account that will own billing and the workspace.
- Open the Team section of the dashboard.
- Enter a team name and select Create team.
- Use the workspace switcher to enter the new team.
- Create team folders or domains and publish the first team link.
The team owner's current plan supplies the workspace entitlement. Members do not need separate Enterprise subscriptions to use Enterprise features inside that team, but their Personal workspace continues to use their own plan.
Invite a member
Owners and admins can:
- Open the team's Team section.
- Enter the person's email address.
- Choose Member or Admin.
- Send the invitation.
Invitations expire after seven days and can be revoked while pending. The person must sign in with the invited email address before accepting. A pending invitation occupies the available-seat calculation, so revoke unused invitations if the team appears full.
Role permissions
| Action | Member | Admin | Owner |
|---|---|---|---|
| View team links, folders, domains, and analytics | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Create team resources | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Edit/delete resources they created | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Edit/delete any team resource | No | Yes | Yes |
| Invite, revoke invites, or remove members | No | Yes | Yes |
| Change Member/Admin roles | No | Limited | Yes |
| Rename team | No | Yes | Yes |
| Transfer ownership | No | No | Yes |
| Dissolve team | No | No | Yes |
An admin cannot change or remove the owner, promote another owner, change their own role, or manage another admin in the same ways the owner can. Ownership transfer uses its own control.
Work in the correct workspace
Use the dashboard workspace switcher before each of these actions:
- uploading a link;
- creating or selecting a folder;
- adding a custom domain; or
- reviewing the team's view usage and resources.
Workspace boundaries are strict: a team link cannot be placed in a personal folder or attached to a personal domain, and one team's resources cannot be attached to another team.
What happens when membership changes
- A non-owner can leave the team.
- Owners and admins can remove members within their role permissions.
- Links, folders, and domains created in the team stay with the team after their creator leaves or is removed.
- A removed member immediately loses team access but does not take team resources into Personal.
- The owner cannot leave or be removed; ownership must first be transferred or the team dissolved.
Ownership can be transferred only to an existing team member whose personal account has Enterprise, because the new owner's plan will control the entire workspace.
Dissolve a team
Only the owner can dissolve the team. Dissolution removes the shared workspace but does not delete its content. Each link, folder, and domain reverts to the Personal workspace of its original creator.
Review this carefully before confirming:
- the creator's personal plan will begin controlling each reverted resource;
- paid-created links may stop serving if that creator is not eligible;
- custom-domain associations can change behavior; and
- former teammates no longer share access through the team.
Team operating checklist
- Use individual accounts; never share an email code or session.
- Give Admin only to people who should manage members and all team content.
- Remove expired or unused invitations.
- Transfer ownership before the owner leaves the organization.
- Export any required analytics before deleting a link.
- Keep source-file backups outside the workspace.
