Getting Started
Create a Linkyhost account, publish your first file, and learn what to do with the shareable link.
What Linkyhost does
Linkyhost turns a supported file or static website into a shareable HTTPS address such as https://my-report.linkyhost.com. Each published link has its own address. View analytics are available on Pro and Business; Free links continue collecting visits so available history can be viewed after upgrading.
A normal Linkyhost URL is public to anyone who knows it. Use Pro password protection for a PDF or HTML link when access should be restricted.
1. Create your account
Open the dashboard and sign in with either:
- Google; or
- a one-time code sent to your email address.
There is no separate Linkyhost password to create. The first successful sign-in creates your account.
2. Choose the right workspace
Most people start in their Personal workspace. Business team members can use the workspace switcher in the dashboard before uploading. A link belongs to the workspace selected when it is created, and that workspace's plan controls its features and limits.
See Teams before publishing shared company content.
3. Publish your first file
- In the dashboard, select Create Link.
- Drag a file onto the upload area or choose it from your device.
- Enter a memorable address, or leave it blank for a generated one.
- Review the available settings for your plan.
- Start the upload and wait for the published-link confirmation.
- Open the link in a private browser window to check what a visitor will see.
- Copy the URL and share it.
The standard uploader accepts PDF, DOCX, HTML, TXT, plain-text CSV, ZIP website bundles, and JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP images. ZIP website bundles require Pro. For details, see Upload and Publish.
Plan overview
| Plan | Upload allowance | Maximum file size | Main additions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 hosted upload | 10 MB | Linkyhost subdomain and built-in viewer |
| Pro | No plan-based count limit | 100 MB | Analytics, passwords, expiry, replacement, folders, custom domains, hidden branding, website ZIPs |
| Business | No plan-based count limit | 500 MB | Teams, REST API, analytics CSV export, priority support |
"No plan-based count limit" remains subject to a user-wide safety ceiling of 5,000 authored links. Free links include 200 monthly views and stop serving at the 250-view hard cutoff until the monthly counter resets. Paid links do not use that monthly cutoff. See Limits for the complete rules.
After your link is live
From the dashboard you can:
- open or copy the public URL;
- see view totals and estimated visitors on Pro or Business;
- open the full analytics page on Pro or Business;
- change its custom-domain path;
- move it into a folder on Pro;
- configure supported Pro controls; or
- permanently delete the link and its stored files.
Pro users can also replace a supported file while keeping the URL, analytics, and custom-domain association. See Manage Links.
First-link checklist
- The file type and size fit your plan.
- The chosen address is spelled correctly.
- The visitor-facing page opens outside your signed-in session.
- Sensitive PDF or HTML content has a password if needed.
- Any expiry date is correct and no more than one year away.
- You have kept a local copy of anything you cannot replace.
