Is the BIN to PDF converter free?
Yes. A free account is required to convert or host the PDF. Your selected file stays in this browser while you sign in. Files can be up to 3MB. Hosting is subject to your account limits and safety checks.
Why did my document download as a BIN or DAT file?
BIN and DAT are generic filenames used for many kinds of data. A download can lose its correct extension or be saved with a generic name. We inspect the actual contents to see whether it is a supported document; the filename alone does not tell us.
Which documents can this tool recover?
We can recognize supported PDF files, Word DOCX documents, saved HTML or MHTML web pages, and PNG or JPEG images, even when they have a .bin or .dat extension or no extension. Recognized files must also pass format checks. Other archives, old DOC files, firmware, disk images, and unknown binary data cannot be recovered as documents here.
What does the recovered PDF contain?
A recognized PDF is returned as a PDF. Supported Word documents, saved web pages, and images are converted to visible PDF pages. Conversion can change layout or omit unsupported elements, so check the first-page preview and download the PDF to inspect all pages before sharing.
Can a saved receipt or web page be recovered?
Supported HTML and MHTML files are converted as static snapshots. Scripts, sign-in, live website features, and remote resources are not loaded. If the saved file is a login page, error page, or incomplete download, request the actual receipt or export a PDF from the original website.
What if my file is unsupported, damaged, or password-protected?
The tool explains the problem instead of creating an unrelated PDF of byte values. Download the file again, ask its sender for the actual document, or export a PDF from the application that created it. For a protected document you own or are allowed to access, use its original application to export an unlocked copy.
Can I still export a hexadecimal listing?
Yes. Open Advanced: inspect raw bytes and explicitly choose Export a hexadecimal listing. This is a technical view of byte values, not a recovered document. Large inputs may be truncated; the listing identifies that limit. It cannot tell you whether the encoded original content is safe or usable.
Is my document published automatically?
No. Conversion produces a PDF for preview and download. You choose whether to host it. Hosting goes through the normal upload, account-limit, and safety checks before a public link becomes available.
Do I need to install software?
No installation is needed. Select the file in your browser and sign in to submit it to our conversion service. Then preview or download the result. Conversion is processed by our servers; the result is not automatically hosted.
