How Does Storage Space Work?
The amount of storage space you need depends on the type and scale of your website. A simple blog might use only a few hundred megabytes, while an e-commerce site with thousands of product images and a large database could require tens of gigabytes. Media-heavy sites with video content or large file downloads may need significantly more storage or should offload assets to external storage services or CDNs.
Modern hosting plans commonly offer SSD-based storage, which provides dramatically faster read and write speeds compared to traditional hard disk drives. Some providers advertise unlimited storage, but these plans typically come with acceptable use policies that restrict what types of files can be stored.
